Samantha Baker

Sam is a Director and co-founder of Baker Creed. She has 15 years’ experience in recruiting lawyers (from junior team members to General Counsel and Company Secretaries) for companies and banks, both in the UK and internationally.

Prior to setting up Baker Creed, Sam was a Director at Hays Legal, formerly ZMB, which she joined in 1999. She managed the in-house and company secretarial team which at the time enjoyed a strong reputation in the market, most especially for its quality of service.

Sam studied law at the University of Durham and completed the LPC at the College of Law in York. She then trained with City law firm Freshfields, where she qualified into the Litigation department.

Sam is married with two young children and now lives in Surrey.

Nick Creed

Nick is a Director and co-founder of Baker Creed with over 15 years’ legal recruitment experience. Throughout his recruitment career he has specialised in placing lawyers in-house, from newly-qualified to General Counsel, primarily across London and the South East. In terms of sector, Nick’s focus has been commerce and industry, with clients ranging from household-name multi-nationals with established in-house teams to SMEs and even start-ups looking to make first-time appointments.

Prior to founding Baker Creed, Nick was a Director and key member of the in-house legal team at Hays Legal and formerly at ZMB, one of the leading UK legal recruitment consultancies of its day.

Nick read Law at Bristol University before going on to the College of Law, Guildford, and qualifying as a solicitor in 1997. He joined Slaughter & May’s Employment team on qualification before switching to legal recruitment in late 1998.

Nick lives with his partner in SW London.
